Roles & Responsibilities
- Define and lead AI & GenAI strategy for electric, gas and water utilities
- Advise CIO, CTO, CDO, and business leaders on AI-led operating model transformation
- Architect and deliver end-to-end AI and GenAI solutions from concept to production
- Lead large-scale AI programs across grid operations, asset management, customer operations, and energy transition
- Establish AI governance, Responsible AI, and regulatory compliance (e.g., NERC CIP)
- Build and scale AI teams, Centers of Excellence, and reusable accelerators
- Support pre-sales, RFPs, executive solutioning, and strategic pursuits
Qualifications:
Technical Expertise:
- AI / ML Frameworks: TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn, Hugging Face
- Generative AI & LLMs: GPT, Claude, Llama, Gemini; prompt engineering and agentic architectures
- Cloud AI Platforms: Azure Machine Learning, Azure OpenAI, AWS SageMaker & Bedrock, Google Vertex AI
- MLOps: CI/CD pipelines, model monitoring, governance, retraining, and security
- Data Platforms: Databricks, Snowflake, cloud-native data lakes
- Utility Systems & Data: SCADA, AMI, OMS, GIS, DERMS, EAM
Preferred Skills / Background:
- Former Head of AI, Chief AI Officer, AI Practice Leader, or AI Startup Founder
- Experience running AI departments, AI CoEs, or small AI-focused companies · Proven record of building AI teams and scaling production-grade AI solutions
- Prior consulting experience with North American utilities Certifications
Relevant certifications in AI/ML and cloud platforms:
- Azure AI Engineer Associate
- AWS Certified Machine Learning Specialty
- Google Professional Machine Learning Engineer
- Certifications in Generative AI tools
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, AI/ML, Data Science, or a related field (Master’s or PhD preferred)
